Cars... more trouble than they're worth?

Oh joy of joys. What seemed only relatively troublesome - getting new insurance, new licenses, new registration - has turned out to be even MORE a pain in the arse!
Although they don't mention it on their (informative?) website, the ontario car registrars require the car to be saftied and have an emissions-test. More cost, more running around, more delays! Then we can license the car. Then we can go back to the insurance company and they can confirm the condition of the car etc.
Note to self - quit moving provinces!

(PS I wrote this entry because I think Robin would have been incoherent in his rage! lol. He hasn't quite come on board with this blog thing. Feel free to encourage him to contribute!)

You think that's car trouble.... Ryan and I bought a car in Calgary but when we went to get temp insurance Manitoba Insurance told us we needed a transfer of ownership paper but we didn't get one. In Alberta they only have the sales slip and that's it cause each dealership has to get qualified to sell cars and they are all researched before purchass to prove they're not stolen. But Manitba demands you have a peice of paper that was no where to be found. Needless to say we drove it anyways with a random plate only to have the car break down 5 hours out of winnipeg. Had to use 2 CAA cards and $250 to get it home. Oh well it will be worth it eventually. Assuming we can find a way to get it insured cause we still don't have that paper.
