Today I was corrected by Abi. We were looking for a specific cat toy she can't find, and I tried distracting her (from the still-missing toy) by offering another "cat". "That's not a cat!" She says. "That's a tiger!" Which, of course, I knew, but she'd always called it a cat before even when I would call it a tiger. She then proceeded to practice saying Tiger. This was the first time I'd ever heard the word from her. It's been a long time since I called any of her tigers that. It used to be I'd talk about a tiger and she'd say "no, cat". I can only assume she learned the difference from kids at daycare.
Granted, she also tells me she wants a DS.
And, I'm waiting for an opporunity for a video, but she will sing for you:
"Tick tock on the clock. The party gonna start. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh."
Which, in order of learning actually developed as:
"oh, oh, oh. oh, oh, oh." Then "tick tock... clock." And only this week was the party added.
We recently discovered where she learned it (daycare of course). It's on one of the girls' Nintendo DS toys as downloaded by an older sibling.
Right now I admit it's very cute when she sings this chorus and dances. Let's hope she doesn't figure out the parts about beer and Jacks. (If you don't know, this is a pop song by new "Britney" singer Kesha. The tick-tock part about dancing isn't so bad. It's the video, oh and the fact that it's about drinking all night (starting the night washing out your mouth with Jack Daniels) that isn't so good.)
